SL LINE BY DMT: COMPACT AND POWERFUL

If confirmation was needed, the TV network digitalization, currently in progress in many world areas, clearly shows how quality of transmission equipment cannot be disregarded, not even for low and medium power systems.

Quality means top level performance, but also all-proof reliability and flexibility in system configuration, to comply with the specific likings and needs of each operator.

DMT answers to all these needs with SL line. At the base of SL, as in many other appreciated product lines by DMT, is once again the multimode exciter B10, capable to operate in digital as well as in analog. And with top-level performance, to achieve always excellent reception quality, even when signal is a bit less strong. Performance that translates, just to say one, in native MER values in excess of 40dB and that. also by virtue of adaptive precorrection, keeps excellent also after the amplification stages.

Several choices of amplifier modules are available: SL1 (1U, 19”) and SL2 (2U, 19”), generally with single phase power supply. For SL1, output power is 50Wrms (digital) and 100Wp.s. (analog), whereas SL2 delivers 200Wrms and 500 p.s respectively.Between SL1 and SL2 is the PA model SL2h, similar to SL2, delivering 100W digital and 250W analog.

Combinations of the SL PA units implement redundant-PA systems with output power values up to about 1.0kWrms / 2.5kWp.s. Such solutions allow for a further safeguard of network operation continuity and are suitable to comply with special installation constraints, like the availability of only single phase mains voltage.

Also the amplification stages benefit from the “noble” relations of SL series to DMT’s products of higher power. The circuitry is directly derived from that of the V66 (air-cooled) and V75 (liquid-cooled): further to last-generation semiconductors, the design of board and systems shows the imprint of the usual DMT’s care for quality and efficiency.

The advantage is evident in operation, with minimum maintenance costs and savings that abundantly compensate for the initial investment.

Several options are available to interface SL series equipment. One is the on board, wide “Touch Screen” display, providing an immediate and intuitive access to the machine. And then, there are web pages for local/remote control, as well as SNMP protocol, to interface centralised network supervision systems.
Last, but not least, if repeaters/translators/gap fillers are needed, SL line is available also in combination with DSO, the appreciated multimode repeater by DMT, suitable to operate in a wide range of configurations, digital, but also “transparent” to analog.
